Is the app free?
Yes. Kyoto Unknown is completely free with no in-app purchases or ads.
Does the map work offline?
The map uses Apple Maps which caches tiles as you browse. For best results, open the map while on Wi-Fi before heading out. Your GPS location works without an internet connection.
How were the places chosen?
Every place in the app has been personally visited and vetted. Nothing is sponsored or paid for. We include places we genuinely think are worth your time.
Will you add more places?
Yes, we're always exploring Kyoto and adding new finds. Updates come through the App Store.
Can I suggest a place?
Absolutely. Send us an email and tell us about it. We check every suggestion.
What iOS version do I need?
Kyoto Unknown requires iOS 17.0 or later.
